During Orientation you will also attend sessions on essential law school skills and a sample class in Contracts taught by your first-year professors. Below are the required readings for the sessions.
Tuesday, August 16
Elements of the Law: Legal Reading and Briefing. Please read and be prepared to discuss Benjamin v. Lindner Aviation. We will be discussing and briefing this case during the session.
Wednesday, August 17
Sample Class Assignments. The reading assignments for the sample class differ based on section. Please read these materials carefully so that you are prepared to participate actively in the class discussion

Professionalism: Character and Fitness. Please access and print out your Hofstra Law application from the LSAC website. If you can’t print out the application yet, you should save an electronic copy of it. For orientation, you should study the Character & Fitness questions and verify the accuracy of your answers. You should also keep a copy for the time that you apply for admission to the practice of law. To access the application, visit lsac.org and log in to your account.
