On-Campus Interviews (OCI)

This recruitment program primarily offers private law firms the opportunity to recruit rising 2L students for their structured summer programs. The summer program offers the employer a chance to assess the talents of the students they recruit, and typically leads to an offer for permanent post-graduate employment for students who perform well.

Fall OCI typically runs from late July to late October each year and kicks off with an Early Interview Program that takes place at a central location in Manhattan (for the past several years, the Early Interview Program has been hosted at the Princeton Club). Interviews occurring after completion of the Early Interview Program will take place on the Hofstra campus.

Law Students Talking Together

Dinner with a Lawyer

This program offers students an opportunity to speak with attorneys and learn more about their practice areas during an informal dinner in the Law School atrium. It is another opportunity to network with attorneys who provide career guidance and insights into their field of law.

Spring Interview Program (SIP)

During the spring semester, Hofstra Law hosts dozens of employers seeking to hire summer interns and/or entry-level attorneys. Students may apply to as many employers as they wish. Employers select all of the students they wish to interview. The interviews are generally conducted in March, one evening on-campus, and one evening at a location in the city.

Recent Grads for Hire

Shortly after the bar exam, Hofstra OCS invites employers to recruit recent graduates for new entry level positions that are available. The employers are able to select the graduates they wish to interview based on a submission of resume packets. In this way, recent graduates are given a focus to their job search and employers are encouraged to hire the local Hofstra Law talent.
