Biography

Roni Amit is a clinical fellow with the Deportation Defense Clinic at Hofstra Law School, where she works on impact litigation and removal defense cases. She has worked as a pro bono attorney representing detained women and children from Central America. She previously worked as a Senior Researcher with the African Centre for Migration & Society at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, and as a research and strategic litigation fellow at Lawyers for Human Rights in Johannesburg. She has a PhD in political science from the University of Washington and a law degree from New York University. Her research focuses on rights protection, administrative justice, judicial processes, and practice in the areas of refugee law and immigration detention.
