Biography

James M. Black II has practiced in the areas of Government Contracts, Government Compliance, Corporate Compliance and International Business for about 30 years.

Currently counsel to Silverman Acampora, where he heads the Government Contracts and Compliance practice, Professor Black has served as counsel to several multinational corporations, creating export compliance protocols and managing bid and proposal processes. He has created Codes of Conduct and established compliance help lines, which includes review of all incoming questions and concerns and investigating and reporting each incident to executive management and Board Audit Committees. In addition, Professor Black as experience in dealing with issues related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) the Federal Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility and Compliance Act and other government acquisition and trade rules and regulations.

Professor Black is also an adjunct professor at LIU Post where he teaches Business Law in the MBA program. He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut and is member of the American, NY and Nassau County Bar Associations. He is a member of the Nassau Bar’s Ethics Committee. He is a graduate of Hofstra University and Hofstra Law School where is was a Notes and Comments Editor on the Labor Law Journal.

His article, "Now What Did Facebook Do to the Internet? The Invalidation of the US Safe Harbor Agreement" was published in the Spring 2016 issue of the European Law Reporter.
