Richard Kass has been a member of Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC since 2004.  Before that, he was a partner at Rains & Pogrebin, P.C., where he began his career in 1986. Throughout his career, he has limited his practice to labor and employment law.  He has represented a wide variety of private sector employers, nonprofit social service agencies, and public school districts.  His practice encompasses all aspects of labor and employment law, including discrimination law, collective bargaining, union relations, employee discipline, noncompetition agreements, and wage and hour regulations. He has trained hundreds of managers and supervisors in the prevention of sexual harassment and in the proper conduct of workplace investigations.

In addition to providing day-to-day problem-solving advice to his clients, Richard has extensive litigation experience in federal and state court, arbitration, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, and the National Labor Relations Board.  He has also handled numerous administrative investigations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the federal and state Departments of Labor.

Richard was awarded the Long Island Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney award in 2003, and the New York Lawyers Alliance Pro Bono award in 2014.

His article "Early Retirement Incentives and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act" was published in Volume 4 of the Hofstra Labor Law Journal in 1986.
