Howard Altman joined Hurwitz & Fine as an associate in August 2016.

Brian Corrigan joined Farrell Fritz in June 2016 as a partner in the firm’s estate litigation department.

Benjamin Malerba, a partner at Rivkin Radler, was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018.

Melissa Negrin-Wiener, a partner at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, was sworn in as a court examiner at the Appellate Division, Second Department, in Jan. 2017.

Inga O’Neale, a principal law clerk at the Kings County Supreme Court, was named Employee of the Year in June 2017. She began working within the court system as an intern during her first year of law school and officially marked her 15th anniversary within the court system on July 5.

Katie (Kate) Lynn Patenaude Strafford passed away on Aug. 11, 2016.

David Vozza, a partner at Kern Augustine Conroy & Schoppman, was featured in “Ones to Watch in Law” in the April 8-14, 2016, edition of Long Island Business News.

Erin Stamper was promoted to supervising associate at The Russell Friedman Law Group in June 2017.

Terrence Tarver, an attorney in Garden City, was named treasurer of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association.


2008

Kristy Docabo, a managing associate in the real estate department of Seyfarth Shaw, was recognized by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) as a Top Lawyer Under 40. The award honors accomplished lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession. It was presented on March 31 during the 2017 HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference in Miami, FL.

Lisa Gardner, an associate at Wisselman, Harounian & Associates, was honored at the Long Island Business News Millennial Awards event held at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Sept. 15, 2016. The awards honor “bright and dynamic young professionals who are part of the millennial generation, who contribute to the Long Island community and who have made significant strides in business at a young age.”

Erik Howard was appointed deputy town attorney for the Town of Riverhead in June 2017.

Kristin LaScala-Goldberg joined Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman as an associate in the real estate practice group in August 2016.

Tamara Bruno, counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, was named a Rising Star for 2017 by Law360 for her accomplishments as an insurance attorney under 40.
