Richard Herzbach, a partner at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, was elected co-president of the Long Island Real Estate Group.


Richard Somach, an attorney at Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, was appointed corporate counsel of America On Wheels, a nonprofit museum featuring automobiles, motorcycles and bicycles from different time periods.


Lorna Goodman is chair of the board of trustees of the World Monuments Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting endangered ancient and historic sites around the world.


Steven Kenneth Porter passed away on April 3, 2017. He practiced law in Manhattan before relocating to Albany, NY, in 1982. He was a key leader of the Galesi Group of Companies for nearly 30 years, serving as its general counsel and senior vice president. He is survived by his wife, Elena Brannstrom; his twin brother, Grant; his children Whitney (Porter) Malone (Paul) and Steve Porter (Amy); his stepchildren, Sam and Nike Brannstrom; and his four granddaughters, Liv Malone, Vivienne Malone, Eloise Porter and Olive Porter.


Brian S. Conneely, a partner at Rivkin Radler, was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018.

Montel A. Jackel joined Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld as a senior counsel in August 2016.

Richard Lazarus, a judicial referee of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, was installed as treasurer of the Queens County Bar Association in June 2017.


David Lee Foster was appointed town attorney for Seneca Falls, NY, in July 2017. He served as city attorney in Geneva, NY, from 2007-14. He resigned to accept an appointment as an associate city judge in Geneva City Court.

Polly Puner joined the Bronx District Attorney’s Office in October 2016 as deputy chief for professional responsibility and ethics.


Ilene Sherwyn Cooper, a partner at Farrell Fritz, was appointed to the board of the Suffolk Y JCC and was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2017 and 2018.
