Sports and Entertainment Law Society

During the 2004-2005 school year, the members of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS) made an effort to revive a journal that existed at Hofstra Law School during the 1980s. The original journal was entitled the Copyright and Entertainment Law Digest, and was published for only a few years. Upon speaking with one of the original founders, Attorney Vinca Jarrett, the members of the SELS decided to attempt to publish the Digest again.

The SELS members view the new Digest as part revival and part new. We have changed the name of the Digest and expanded its scope. The Digest is now entitled the Sports and Entertainment Law Digest, and covers a variety of legal issues that may arise in either of these industries, such as tort liability, contract issues and intellectual property considerations.

The Digest is published through the SELS at Hofstra Law School, but is not an official journal. We are in no way endorsed by the Law School.

We hope that you will take some time to read the Digest by clicking on the link below. We hope that you enjoy the new Digest.
