The LALSA Legacy
The Latino/a American Law Students Association
Founded in 1987
But for me, LALSA's true legacy is the many lives that have been enriched, enhanced, supported and impacted by those members of LALSA, past and present, who understood that its mission went beyond any one person. I profoundly and innately understood that the importance of LALSA was greater than any one President, any particular Executive Board, or any one Member. To not recognize this fact is to miss the mark completely.
It is my prayer and hope that the true mission of LALSA remains as one that reflects leadership development and empowerment that extends far beyond the walls of the Hofstra community. A cultivation of leadership that is defined by selflessness and advocates on behalf of the Latino community looking beyond individual agendas. More importantly, leadership that overcomes and conquers the obstacles that potentially deteriorate the cohesiveness and camaraderie of the Latino community.
As always, I remain a committed LALSA alumna prepared to continue making the needed contributions and maintaining the necessary vigilance over the direction of OUR shared legacy.
With Love, Respect, and Admiration Always,
Judge Sallie Manzanet
