BLSA INITIATIVES

Moving Forward, Reaching Back

Throughout the year members will be presented with many opportunities to give back to their community, BLSA encourages all of its membership to take advantage of as many of these opportunities as possible.

How can give you back?

• BLSA Clothing Drive – BLSA will be collecting clothing throughout the school year to be donated to different missionaries. This is a small gift, that can make a big difference.
• BLSA Food Drive – You can contribute to BLSA’s efforts to give back by giving canned food. We will be collecting food throughout the semester and the school year to be donated to the residents of the Hempstead, NY community.
• BLSA Bookbag Drive – BLSA encourages you to donate bookbags so that they can be given to the students in the greater Nassau County community for students who can put them to good use.
• BLSA Back to School – BLSA will be seeking.

BLSA Goes Green:

• Toy Drive – Don’t let those old toys go to waste donate them! Throughout the semester we will be collecting toys in order to donate them during the holiday season. This two-fold initiative makes for happy children and a cleaner Earth!
• Bird Feeding at Jones Beach – Nothing reminds of us our need to protect the world we live in by immersing in its natural beauty. Join BLSA as we visit our local beach.
• The Great Green Picnic – In endorsing healthier eating among students BLSA will be hosting an outdoor picnic of salads, greens, and hearty sandwiches. Please join us, brown bags welcomed!
