Hofstra Law alumna Heather Drayton ‘08 selected as Presidential Management Fellow

Hofstra Law School, Hempstead, N.Y. — Hofstra Law School alumna Heather Drayton, Class of 2008, was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow and is working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of the Inspector General.

"This is an incredible honor and we are very proud of Heather's achievement," said Michael J. Ende, Hofstra Law School Assistant Dean for Career Services. 

During her years at Hofstra Law, Drayton won the Distinguished Service to the Law School Award, the Excellence in Environmental and Natural Resources Law Courses Award and the Pro Bono Gold Level Certificate.  She was also published in the Hofstra Law Review law.hofstra.edu/LawReview.

The purpose of the President Management Fellowship Program is to attract outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths to Federal service.  Those selected have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.
 
The Presidential Management Fellowship receives approximately 3,000 to 3,600 applications, and the number of finalists has varied from 535 to 754.  For the past three years, approximately 60% obtained appointments as Fellows.

The Office of Inspector General is an independent office that helps the EPA protect the environment in a more efficient and cost effective manner.  The Office consists of auditors, program analysts and investigators.
