HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Hofstra Law School’s Alumni Association will host the Sixth Annual Celebrity Golf Outing on Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Seawane Country Club in Hewlett Harbor, New York. The funds raised at this event directly benefit the Law School Scholarship Fund, providing critical financial assistance to deserving students.
The Celebrity Golf Outing provides an opportunity for alumni and friends of the Law School to meet, mingle and golf with exciting sports legends. The following guests will be honored at the cocktail reception and dinner:
Meadowlark Lemon, “Clown Prince of Basketball”; 23 seasons with the Harlem Globetrotters; more than 16,000 games played; enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003
Rollie Fingers, National Hall of Fame Relief Pitcher; American League MVP; Cy Young Award Winner
Edgar Prado, Jockey; more than 6,000 wins, including riding Barbero to victory in the 132nd Kentucky Derby; Three-Time Breeder’s Cup Winner; 2006 Eclipse, ESPN Espy, and NYRA Mike Venezia Award Winner

The golf outing begins with breakfast at 10:00 a.m., followed by an afternoon of golfing. The day concludes with a cocktail reception, dinner buffet, awards ceremony, and raffle.
