Biography

Mike serves as arbitrator, mediator, and professor. This is after 30 years as a full-time commercial litigator. He then was for seven years Deputy General Counsel of a major financial services company, with global responsibility for litigation, employment, IP and other areas and lived in New York and London. He has written widely about in-house counsel, the topic of his course, and in the fields of arbitration and mediation. Mike is a Fellow of CIArb and Secretary of its New York Branch. He is a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Mike is on the panels of arbitrators and mediators of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA). Mike is on the mediation panels of the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and for the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the International Arbitration Club of New York (web curator) and the New York International Arbitration Center, the user council of London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center (SVAMC).

He has arbitrated over 25 cases, both as sole arbitrator and a panel member. He has mediated a like number of matters, about half to resolution.

Mike is a member of several bar related groups concerned with arbitration and mediation. Mike teaches a course at Hofstra Law School, Fall semesters.
