Michael V. Girace joined Jaspan Schlesinger in January 2012 as an associate in the firm’s banking and financial services practice group.

Carmen I. Pagan joined Blank Rome in February 2012 as an associate in the real estate development group in the firm’s New York office.

Cally Schickler joined Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin & Quartararo as an associate in April 2012. She has a general practice, with a primary concentration in commercial litigation, real estate transactions, and commercial and residential real estate development.

Melissa Negrin-Wiener, a partner at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, and Lynn Rubino ’11, law clerk at the firm, co-authored the article “Same Sex Marriage: The Benefits and Burdens on Medicaid Recipients,” 61 Nassau Lawyer 9 (November 2011). Also, Negrin-Wiener was appointed to the board of the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association in July 2012 and serves as the organization’s vice president of programs.

Loren R. Ungar joined Phoenix-based Cheifetz Iannitelli Marcolini in 2011 as an associate. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial, construction and real estate litigation.

Joshua Brody was elected partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel in March 2012. His practice focuses on general corporate restructuring and bankruptcy matters.

Lisa Cairo, an attorney at Jaspan Schlesinger, was honored by Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s leaders with a 2012 40 Under 40 Award.

Christopher J. Kula was elected counsel at Phillips Nizer in January 2012.

Lauren M. Levine was named partner at Garfunkel Wild in the litigation and arbitration practice group in January 2012.

Kimberly Tivin married David Silversmith on June 10, 2012, at Temple Beth Torah in Melville, NY. She is a law clerk to Justice Howard G. Lane ’78 of New York State Supreme Court, Queens County.

Monica (Austin) Vignier gave birth to her third child, Marc Christopher, on February 7, 2012.

June D. Reiter was promoted to partner at Catalano Gallardo & Petropoulos in January 2012.

Jason Trigger joined Fluet Huber & Hoang in Lake Ridge, VA, as senior associate in March 2012.

Brian M. Walsh joined Shuffield, Lowman & Wilson in Orlando, FL, in January 2012. He practices in the area of business law, concentrating in the areas of corporate and federal income tax.

Jaclyn S. Granet joined Goldberg Segalla in August 2012 as an associate. She focuses her practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claims.

Michael Leon was promoted to partner at Jaspan Schlesinger in the firm’s litigation group in March 2012. He advises clients on issues in both federal and state court, specializing in the areas of New York and Delaware corporate and commercial litigation.

Julia Medynskaya was named partner at Baker & McKenzie in the tax practice in the firm’s New York office in February 2012. Her focus is on general tax planning, international tax planning and tax controversy.

Michael I. Schnipper, an associate at Nixon Peabody in the firm’s Long Island office, was recognized by Long Island Business News in June in its 2012 “Who’s Who in Corporate Law.”

Andrez S. Carberry joined Avon Products as the employment counsel in January 2012. He also was the guest speaker at the Stony Brook University annual campus community kickoff celebration for Black History Month on February 1, 2012, and received a 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Stony Brook University Alumni Association at the awards ceremony and reception on November 13, 2012.

Michael DellaUniversita was named partner at Gruenberg & Kelly, now known as Gruenberg Kelly Della, in March 2012. He is a trial attorney with the firm and leads its negotiation and strategy department.

Aneta Sudol joined L’Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini in January 2012 as an associate in the firm’s Garden City, NY, office.

Grant C. Wright joined Wong Fleming in February 2012 as an associate in the firm’s in Princeton, NJ, office. He specializes in civil litigation and appellate advocacy.

Emin Guseynov joined Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in December 2011 as a managing associate in the banking and debt capital markets group and the corporate group in the firm’s New York office.

Robert M. Harper, an associate at Farrell Fritz in the firm’s Uniondale, NY, office, was elected an officer of the Suffolk Academy of Law for a one-year term. The academy is the educational branch of the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Ryan Herman was promoted to manager of football administration for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.

Daniel A. Zuniga joined Zele Huber as an associate in February 2012, and in April he was elected to the board of directors for the North County Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. In 2011 he was recognized as a Legal Elite Rising Star by Florida Trend Magazine and a Top 40 Under 40 member by the National Trial Lawyers Association.

Ron Ben-Bassat joined Ruskin Moscou Faltischek on July 24, 2012, as an associate in the firm’s corporate and securities department and energy practice group. His practice focuses on corporate and securities matters.

Kerrin A. Bowers joined Ingerman Smith as an associate in September 2011. She focuses her practice on education and labor law.

Rose Marie Garcia Bracconier married Joseph John Bracconier III ’08 on September 2, 2012. She is employed at the Children’s Law Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Heather L. (Moros) Gauweiler joined Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman in February 2012 as an associate in the firm’s banking and commercial lending practice group.

Simon Goldenberg, a private practice attorney who specializes in debt resolution, credit card lawsuit defense and bankruptcy, co-authored the article “Decision by Judge Dear highlights need for credit card reform,” which was published in the Brooklyn Eagle on August 29, 2012.

Renato Matos was named a partner in the corporate, taxation and real estate groups at Capell Barnett Matalon & Schoenfeld in the firm’s Jericho, NY, office effective January 2012. His practice concentrates in the areas of corporate tax and real estate.

Joshua Pike joined Garr and White in July 2012 as an associate. He concentrates on family and matrimonial law.

Paul B. Sudentas joined Paul Hastings in August 2012 as an associate in the litigation practice in the firm’s New York office.

Brian Farrar married Katherine Cser on June 2, 2012, at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn, MI. He is with the New York City Law Department, where he represents police officers in federal civil rights litigation.

Jennifer Gebbie joined Farrell Fritz in September 2012 as an associate in the real estate department in the firm’s Uniondale, NY, office.
