Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University students will be able to begin registering for Hofstra Law’s 2013 Summer Session through the My Hofstra Portal at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. You can also register for the Summer Session in person by coming into the Office of Academic Records (Room 114) and filling out a registration card.

Online registration ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2013, and after that date students will no longer be free to add/drop courses without being charged. If you want to register for one of the intensive skills courses after the May 26 deadline, please visit the Office of Academic Records (Room 114), and you can fill out a registration card.

Transfer and visiting students can register by filling out a nonmatriculant application and submitting it to the Office of Enrollment Management, lawadmissions@hofstra.edu, 516-463-5916.

Please note: Those individuals who are not currently enrolled at Hofstra or at another law school who are interested in auditing classes during the summer should contact Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Jennifer Gundlach at Jennifer.Gundlach@hofstra.edu. There will be a charge of $875 per credit.

PLEASE NOTE: The intensive skills courses have separate add/drop and withdrawal policies (with deadlines).You will not be able to drop any intensive skills courses using the online system.

Billing Information

All courses are charged at the per-credit rate of $1,675 (except for the Summer Externship course, which is being charged at the per-credit rate of $837.50).

Maximum Credit Load

Full-time law students may not register for more than eight credits in Summer Session I. Part-time law students may not register for more than six credits in Summer Session I. There is no maximum credit load for full-time or part-time students who enroll in Summer Session III courses.

Please note that in order to qualify for federal student loans, students must be registered for a minimum of five credits in Summer Sessions I and III combined.
