Networking, or relationship-building, is the single most important component to any successful job search.
Statistics have shown that job seekers are four to five times more likely to find a job through some form of networking (referrals, word-of-mouth, being in the right place at the right time) than through mass-mailing applications or responding to job postings. But statistics have also shown that job seekers spend on average less than 20 percent of their time engaged in some form of networking.
If you can consistently incorporate strategies that focus on relationship-building into your job search, you will achieve much greater success with your job search.
