The Journal of International Business and Law (JIBL), which was established in 1999, is a student-run publication that explores the interaction of business and law in the global marketplace. As the legal and business worlds collide in a global business dynamic, there exists a need for wide-ranging scholarly debate and critical thinking on a broad range of topics that is crucial to both practitioners and academicians. Through research and publication in these fields, JIBL aims to bridge the gap between law and business in international corporate and entrepreneurial matters. As a publication produced by students of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law and the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, JIBL draws on the different perspectives of its members to provide a greater understanding of the ways that different disciplines intersect in practice.

At the conclusion of each year, JIBL selects staff members on the basis of grades and a writing competition conducted in cooperation with the Hofstra Law Review. Staff members are required to take a course related to International Law during the Fall of Spring semester of their first year as a part of JIBL.
