The New York Bar Exam

The New York Bar Exam is administered each February and July.
The schedule:

Day 1 — New York Portion

9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. 3 Essays
50 Multiple Choice
40 minutes each
1.5 minutes each
1:45-4:45 p.m.* 2 Essays
Multistate
45 minutes each
90 minutes

9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 100 Multiple Choice 1.8 minutes each

A minimum passing score is 665.

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT):
The MPT is a 90-minute assignment designed to test the Bar candidates ability to use fundamental lawyering skills in a realistic situation. A Case File and a Library are provided along with an assignment such as write a memo, a brief, a statement of fact or a will.
