Description
The potential passage of the Employee Free Choice Act ("EFCA") is one of the most significant and controversial developments in the area of labor law since the National Labor Relations Act. While the debate over EFCA continues, the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal will provide a forum in which each side can present its reasoned argument in support of, or in opposition to, EFCA. Eric J. Schmertz, the former Dean of the Law School, will moderate a panel-debate whereby two management and two labor representatives will cover the many different facets of EFCA. The event is entitled "The Employee Free Choice Act – The Right or Wrong Choice for America?" and will take place on April 1, 2009 in Room 308 of the Law School at 6 p.m.
