Transformative Mediation

The term Transformative mediation, also called the Transformative mediation framework, Transformative framework, and Transformative approach to mediation, has a distinct and clear meaning in relation to its underlying principles and beliefs about conflict and third party intervention. These principles are described in The Promise of Mediation and other related works. What makes Transformative mediation different from other approaches to third party intervention is its relational view of conflict and the way in which third party intervention, in very specific and practical ways, is grounded in this relational view.  Further discussion of the relational view of conflict, as it relates to transformative mediation, can be found in this site under Transformative Framework.
