Welcome

The Office of Career Services (“OCS”) is committed to providing students and alumni with effective guidance and counseling so they can make informed career-related decisions and develop as professionals. The knowledgeable and resourceful OCS staff are ready to assist students and alumni with a variety of career-related efforts through a wide array of services. Among many other things, OCS offers individual career counseling, including job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, and interview training. In addition, OCS presents throughout the year an extensive number of programs and panels that offer students and alumni opportunities to learn about a variety of career paths and effective job search techniques and to meet and network with practicing attorneys and fellow Hofstra Law School alumni.

We have designed these pages for use by prospective students, current students, alumni and employers. Whether you seek information about on-campus recruitment, job postings, public interest careers, post-graduate judicial clerkships or Hofstra Law School's Reciprocity Policy (PDF), the information is here at your fingertips. Also, the Guide to the Job Search (PDF) is now available online. Check out this important resource for tips covering, among other things, resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing skills and techniques, job search strategies and other career-related information. The Guide is an excellent resource, as is the other information contained on these pages, however, neither the Guide nor this Web site should be viewed as a substitute for the value provided by a face-to-face meeting with an OCS counselor. We strongly recommend that current students meet at least once a year with an OCS counselor to discuss career options and job search strategies.
