Hofstra Law School announces programming change
Hofstra Law School, Hempstead, N.Y. — Hofstra Law School Dean Nora V. Demleitner announced the following programming change:
“We believe that the presence of our wonderfully accomplished and hard working part-time evening students has enriched the law school community and encouraged the exchange of ideas among a wider variety of students. However, the global economic situation has forced all law schools to re-examine all programming.
After careful evaluation of our programs, it became apparent that the part-time evening program was not self-sustainable in light of declining admission numbers and long-term local and national demographic trends. Therefore, it was a most difficult but ultimately necessary decision to end admissions for the program.
None of our current students -- full-time or part-time -- will see any changes in programming and standard of service. Hofstra Law faculty and staff remain committed to the success of every student in all of our programs.”
