Hofstra Law alumni win "40 under 40" award
Hofstra Law School, Hempstead, N.Y. — Hofstra Law School alumni Thomas J. Dargan, Jacqueline Harounian and Arthur Laitman will receive the 2009 Long Island Business News 40 Under 40 Award. Long Island Business News will pay tribute to the recipients at a ceremony on Thursday, January 29 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York.
The 40 Under 40 Award acknowledges outstanding members of Long Island’s business community who are under the age of 40. Dargan, Harounian and Laitman are standouts in their respective areas of practice.
Dargan ’96 is a partner at Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles LLP. His firm represents corporate clients in complex civil litigation cases. Dargan focuses on casualty defense litigation including catastrophic trucking accidents, construction accidents and products liability.
Harounian ’94 is a partner at Wisselman Harounian & Associates PC. The Great Neck firm practices family and matrimonial litigation, focusing on custody, divorce and support matters. Harounian was honored in 2007 with a Fortune 52 Women of Achievement Award.
Laitman ‘99 is a partner at Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman LLP. The Garden City law firm handles commercial litigation, corporate litigation, real estate litigation and appellate practice. Laitman is also an active member of Hofstra Law School’s Alumni Board and was recently appointed to the Board of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Commerce and Industry Council.
