Scholarship Overview
Hofstra University School of Law Professor Dwight L. Greene was a brilliant scholar, a talented teacher and a beloved colleague. In 1995 Hofstra Law School, the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, and Professor Greene’s family, friends and colleagues endowed a scholarship in his honor. The Dwight L. Greene Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one student who has demonstrated a commitment to advocacy on behalf of minority groups. Scholarship Award
One full scholarship will be awarded each year to an incoming first year student. This scholarship covers tuition and fees and includes an annual stipend of $5,000 to offset living expenses. The scholarship is renewed annually as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory average in their law school work; the present requirement is 3.25 GPA. Selection Process
The Scholarship Committee will select a recipient based on demonstrated academic excellence, proven leadership ability and community service, and experience and dedication to the pursuit of social justice for minority groups.
