Biography

Elaine Jackson Stack [known as “Jackie”] recently retired as a Supreme Court Justice after sitting for eight years in a Matrimonial Part in Nassau County New York. In January 2008, Judge Stack assume the post of Director of the LL.M. Program in Family Law at Hofstra University School of Law and as Visiting Family Law Judge in Residence. Judge Stack previously served as an elected District Court Judge and as a Deputy Bureau Chief in the Rackets Bureau of the Nassau County D.A.’s Office. She has recently joined the Assigned Counsel Plan panel for Appellate and Law Guardian Family Law appeals. As well Judge Stack was appointed by Chief Judge Judith Kaye to serve on the Dunne Commission, charged with investigating and reporting on the Future of New York State Courts and on the Justice Courts in New York. She is also a former Dean of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Academy of Law and is currently the Chair of the Association’s We Care Fund, its charitable arm.
