Biography
Professor Silberfeld practiced law for 13 years at Rivkin, Radler, Dunne & Bayh (now Rivkin Radler), the last eight years as a partner. Specializing in major products liability, insurance coverage, and environmental litigation, he represented corporate and insurance company clients in trial and appellate courts in approximately 15 states. He retired from the practice of law in 1990 to pursue other interests, including writing and teaching. In 2000, Carolina Academic Press published a book he co-authored about the Rivkin firm. Since 2000, he has taught courses at Hofstra Law School in Appellate Advocacy; Legal Writing; Legal Interviewing, Counseling, and Negotiation; Petrial Skills; Legal Methods; and the Externship Program.
