Students may apply for externship credit for multiple semesters but should do so only after reviewing the Rules for Election of Non-Classroom Courses, which can be found on page 45 of the Student Handbook (PDF).
After securing a placement, a student seeking externship credit should complete a Request for Field Placement Approval and return the completed form to Franca Sachs, director of the Externship Program, in Room 222 or by email.
Students will also need to sign the Memorandum of Understanding and ask that their field placement supervisor sign the form as well.
Once a student has submitted both the Request for Approval and the Memorandum of Understanding, the student will be approved to register for the appropriate externship seminar.
These forms must be submitted before the end of the add/drop period indicated in the registration materials.
