The Center promotes important interdisciplinary research in the field of family law, legislation, case law, mediation, alternatives to litigation, court-affiliated education, and proposed reforms.

• Family Court Review (FCR): FCR is the academic and research journal of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). It is published quarterly by Blackwell Publishing in corporation with the Center for Children, Families and the Law. FCR is edited by the student staff of Hofstra Law School under the direction of Andrew Schepard, Editor-in-Chief.
• New York State Office of Court Administration's Matrimonial Decision Newsletter: The newsletter provides summaries of recent opinions by New York State judges in matrimonial cases. The student staff of FCR is responsible for editing the newsletter.
• New York Law Journal's Law and Children Column: The Center's director is responsible for writing the monthly column which brings important developments in the field of family law to the attention of the legal community.
