Courts, law firms and employers recognize the significance of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Hofstra Law, or a degree from our joint J.D./M.B.A. program, because they know our graduates are renowned for their legal knowledge, preparedness and poise.
Our curriculum evolves every year to address changes in the law and practice, as when we recently became one of the first law schools in the country to institute a required first-year course in transnational law. Our students have long been involved in clinics, fellowships, externships and pro bono opportunities that give them real attorney experience — practicing alongside veteran lawyers — before they’ve graduated. After embarking on their career of choice, lawyers still come to Hofstra Law to further their development with programs such as the Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in American Legal Studies or Family Law.
Hofstra Law is home to nearly 1,100 students, an alumni base of more than 9,900 members and a distinguished full-time faculty of more than 55 professors, including many scholars recognized as national and international experts in their field. We are proud to provide all of them with an atmosphere of intellectual excitement, personal support and cooperative learning.
